The dust is settling on a very successful launch of NZ On Screen.

There was some great coverage of the site on Radio NZ National with Karen Gregory-Hunt, and on the Sunday Arts show with Lynne Freeman. Various blogs and sites around the country have reported the site and are very happy with how it looks, works and the content it has to offer.
We have had over 50 titles suggested to us to include – which we’ll add to our list for future content releases. The site will absolutely continue to grow – so if there’s something you’d like to see, send it in!
We have had some wonderful feedback about the design, the use of a Creative Commons licence, the quality of the video, the ease of use of the site, the availability of video anywhere in the world, and of course the awesome content!
The fantastic team working on the project really did an amazing job – thanks to Paul, Debbie, Clare, Kim, Catherine, Kylie, Rose, Leo, Ian and Alex for all their work, but especially pushing it the last couple of weeks. And thanks to the great team of writers who have contributed excellent work along the way.
We welcome feedback, suggestions, or ideas. Thanks for visiting NZ On Screen!
In just two (seemingly very) short weeks, on October 23rd, all will be revealed as the NZ On Screen site goes live!
The team is working hard to pull all the last details together. It’s looking fantastic, and we are totally looking forward to sharing the site with the world.
Check back soon!
Apparently the Government likes libraries too. The National Library is getting a $69 million makeover in the next few years. This was announced today by Helen Clark and various digerati along with library and archive mavens.
The new designs do look very spunky from the outside – it would not be hard to be a vast improvement on the current building, prominently placed in the “Parliamentary Precinct”.
People listened attentively as the plans were outlined, as promises were made to take good care of our national treasures. NZ On Screen will be working with the National Library to some degree, we look forward to meetings in shiny new offices with natural light and flow!
